Menlo Construction (Pty) Ltd (North)
In 1974, JJ Kruger and JJ Turck formed Vlamtur Construction (Pty) Ltd. General Civil Contracts were undertaken.
In 1983, with the retirement of JJ Turck due to ill health, it was decided to combine Vlamtur and Menlo.
General Construction Work was undertaken including inter alia Roads, Pipelines, and Mechanical Installations.
In 1986, Menlo Construction (North) (Pty) Ltd was started to include partners in the Building Section. This arrangement was terminated in 1995 as JJ Kruger and B Pringle decided to concentrate on civil contracts only.
In 1994, in line with the policies of the Government and in accordance, over the years with the affirmative policies of Menlo Construction (Pty) Ltd, it was decided by the Directors of Menlo to create the opportunity for those employees who has been loyal to the company for many years and has proved their ability to handle contracts of a multi disciplinary nature and value on their own. As the Directors and Shareholders of Menlo indicated their intention to retire in the near future, it was decided to use the newly established company as an instrument to create the opportunity of sharing in a business and to be able to use the management skills and expertise of a well established company while they were still available.
This led to the creation of Mkwanazi Construction (Pty) Ltd and Gubha Construction cc.
